Welcome to IWAIS 2019

For the 18th time in 36 years, we are launching preparations for an international gathering of specialists to discuss icing of structures. It will be under the banner of IWAIS - International Workshops on Atmospheric Icing of Structures. Throughout this period, the IWAIS conferences have been one of the most important forums for publishing research results on icing and its effects on various structures. IWAIS is also a necessary forum. It brings together specialists in the field to disseminate information of all kinds on the complex phenomenon of atmospheric icing. In addition, inseparable acquaintances and friendships have sprung up, giving the forum added value.

This is the second time Iceland will be the conference site. We held the first conference in Reykjavik in 1998. We hope that as many as possible will participate in IWAIS 2019 and use the opportunity to acquaint themselves with and enjoy Iceland’s unique features.

We will update the home page as preparations unfold. We warmly welcome all pointers from prospective participants at all stages of the preparations.
